KIDS LOVE IT HERE!
We are in the season of Advent, the time when we prepare our hearts for Christmas, the birth of our Savior. In our church’s sanctuary you will see at the altar, a scene with the manger and a path leading to the cross. There is a book that I love to read both at Christmas and Easter, titled The Tale of Three Trees. It is a traditional folktale retold by Angela Elwell Hunt. It is a wonderful book to read with your children.

A countdown leading to Christmas is always a fun family activity. It can be as simple as a paper chain where you write a blessing on each link. You can make your own Advent wreath using nothing more than play-dough and birthday candles. Or make it a little more elaborate with an evergreen wreath and candles. Three purple candles, one pink, and one white candle which is in the center.

● 1st week light a purple candle which represents HOPE
● 2nd week light the 1st and 2nd candle. The 2nd candle represents LOVE
● 3rd week light the two purple candles and the pink candle. This represents JOY
● 4th week light the three candles and now the last purple candle. This represents PEACE.
● CHRISTMAS IS HERE! Light all candles and the white one, THE CHRIST CANDLE.

A blessed Christmas to you and yours.
